Bob Gilmore

I’m one of those born to be a part of radio. I think the Beatles started it in 1964 for me as I was only 4 years old then. I was in Broadcasting School before I was out of High School and got right into radio as soon as I could convince my parents to drive me to the radio station. I have a long list of stations in Connecticut that I have worked for. My longest was with WEBE 108 doing Sunday mornings from 1994 to 2008.
My love of radio goes along with the love of music and the transmitter that makes it happen. Today it’s just as much the internet as the radio in your car.
I have spent a greater part of my life recording radio station throughout The US and Canada. Today I have nearly 7,000 recordings called “Airchecks” that span back into the 60’s. I was most influenced by nighttime radio such as WCFL, CKLW, WRKO, CKGM and WABC. You can visit my webpage at: www.bobgilmore.com
Today I work as an Engineer for ESPN in Connecticut and work on my music re-mastering here in my home studio. I just love the oldies!
I’m married since 1997 to my wife Susanne who is from Sweden and met in Iceland, and we have two boys, Ben and Evan.
