Listeners

Welcome to the exciting new HitOldies.com website.  Many thanks to Lance Venta and Steve West for a job well done – Over AND Above…  Thanks for taking an interest in what we think is the future of broadcasting NOW.  Ted Silver started out in the mid-90’s streaming Oldies music Live every weekend from his home studio.   While this was a fun hobby at first, he also wished to take the concept further by replicating the sound of those great radio stations from the 60’s and 70’s.   I just happened to be at the right place at the right time and came on board a while later.

We soon got real lucky and met a broadcaster based in Canada who was pretty good with computers and was not afraid to innovate.  Within a year, more announcers with similar backgrounds who share the same passion for radio joined HitOldies.  There are 200+ years of combined radio experience on the team now.

We all come from a time where personality made radio work and we want to continue to make it fun.  This is no voice track or satellite network service.  Time checks, local weather, station jingles, promos, liners, ads can be delivered as per the program director’s instructions.   We play a carefully formatted oldies mix of the 70’s, 80’s and 60’s while putting an emphasis on pop culture, local flavor, wit and quick energy.

Keep visiting HitOldies.com often.  We intend on keeping the site fresh with information about music and radio.  We hope you will become a ‘friend’ on our Facebook page and tell us what you think of the sound.  Don’t forget, when we are live on the air,  you can drop by the chatroom and say hi.   We love to play your requests.

Regards,

Daniel Coulombe
