Perhaps you grew up listening to WABC in the 1960s and 70s. Maybe it was CKTS, CKGM, CHUM or even KFRC. If you recognize those call letters, you remember a time when music was played on vynl, there were exciting Jingles between the songs, and Disc Jockeys were the most important guys on the radio.

That’s the concept behind HitOldies! It’s more than just the hits of the 60s, 70s and 80s. We bring back the personality and the SOUND that you remember on the stations you loved. We recognize that you could be listening to your iPod, or a home mix CD, but you’ve chosen Hit Oldies, and that means you want more than a bland music mix.

HitOldies is NOT your typical “Oldies” or “Classic Hit” station.  HitOldies is fun.  HitOldies is upbeat.  HitOldies plays ALL the hits you remember, and probably a few you don’t.  Add to this the fact that HitOldies features deejays with decades of broadcast experience in some of the largest markets in Canada and the United States.  Deejays who remember the days when Top 40 music was heard on AM (and then FM) stations, who are of quick wit, yet who won’t bore you with senseless babble.

HitOldies is much more than just The Beatles, it is Chicago. Prince. The Beach Boys. Michael Jackson. The Bee Gees. Even the Carpenters. And, every weekend is a themed weekend! Whether it’s Number One Hits, Motown, 80s… there’s something for EVERYBODY! We may not be able to re-live the past, but we can step into an audio time machine, and experience the closest thing to it. HitOldies is currently heard weekends on CJMQ 88.9 FM Sherbrooke, Quebec.  Saturdays 7am – 6pm and Sundays 9am – Noon.
